CMFrenzy.com is proud to present to you the first ever FML manager story, well in this case more of a league story. There will be biweekly updates by a certain Marc Ackter (runs a federation in FML) with a look at the past games, teams and so forth. An optimum oppertunity to get to understand how much fun FML can be.
Let's first have a look at some of the teams participating in the AFA federation then.
Let's first have a look at some of the teams participating in the AFA federation then.
The Manager Nik Reeves is a 'Neil Warnock' type boss. Always moaning about perceived injustices, whilst trying his best to get even on the pitch, by any means possible... Does tend to upset people a lot less than Warnock though.
Star Player The main man for the Blades is surely 24-year old American hotshot Eddie Johnson, who has already fired home 16 goals since his £500k move to Churchdale Road. Another key player could even be Filippo Inzaghi, whose accidental sale for £1 recently may prove to be a costly mistake...
The Blades will be hoping to consolidate in League A, so that they can invest for the future. A good cup run is always nice, and the Blades will be hoping to be losing semi-finalists as always. With only two minor trophies in the cupboard, the Blades are unlikely to be pushing for glory.
The Blades aren't short of promising youngsters - the question is whether they can deliver. The midfield includes Englishman Ben Watson (23), the creative playmaker who loves to burst forward to score, and the dynamic french wingers Matthieu Debuchy (23) and Ludovic Obraniak (24), who will be looking to keep on whipping in those deadly balls for Johnson and Adauto to convert... Scott Sinclair (19), Damian Escudero (21) and Ramon Ocampo (22) are all waiting in the wings impatiently as well in this young squad.
(Steel City)
The Manager The name’s Warren, Tom Warren. Cocksure young manager always looking to the future, if I lose, I get so angry that I beat up Chuck Norris (Yes I really do)
Star Player Marlon Harewood is going to fire me to the promised land! (Please note, Promised Land location TBC)
(Hopefully I would like to be pushing for a European place although realistically I will settle for mid table and latter stages of the cup. My youth have no chance and are just here to make up the numbers!
Juninho in midfield, just turned 24 and has already cemented himself as a first time player, only going to improve!
(The Outofbreathers)
The Manager Marc Ackter is the typical cocky boss. Always singing his own praises and mocking those who fall behind him. Does not like to lose.
Star Player 26 year old American forward Landon Donovan will prove a real handful for Notvery's opposition. Creative and fast, most of Notvery's attacks start with him.
With a very strong team and top 50 ranking, Notvery should be aiming to capture at least one domestic cup and finishing in the top 3 of League A.
22 year old David Robertson is fast learning from his team mate Landon Donovan. A capable understudy, he has already caused mayhem in a handful of pre-season friendlies and is raring to get started this season.
(The Rejects)
The Manager Andy Mcleod likes to play attacking football getting the ball down and passing it. He doesn’t like to lose and currently has a respectable ranking.
Star Player What can I say Malik Mouath Al-Hawasawi - best ever signing. The amount of goals he pops in is great.
Early title contenders but not getting their hopes up. Aims of a top 3 finish and to hammer bitter rivals Notvery Athletic 5-0.
It has to be Vanderbiest - 16 year old with all the right attributes. A star for the future.
(Panthers)
The Manager Cian Fahey is a relaxed man management type of boss who also boasts tactical genius and generally does well in all aspects of scouting and youth development. His major flaws are discipline because his players don’t respect him and always get sent off!!!
Star Player Dillon Panthers are based on a team ethic and are full of very good players but the most impressive area of the team is the midfield area which boasts top talents like Jimmy Bullard and Denny Landzaat providing the creative spark in a top notch midfield completed by Aiden McGeady and Anthony Stokes.
With a team that has all the ability to gain promotion Fahey is aiming high this year. While promotion is the main aim for his Seniors his Youths are going to fight rigidly in all cups.
Bruno De Araujo Soares is one for the distant future with all the skills at only 15 while Anthony Stokes and Chaouki Ben-Saada are the diamonds involved with the senior team. Now obviously there are more members of the federation, but there's just a few for now so you get the general idea, now on to the match reports!
Match Reports
League A
League B
The first match of the AFA League B saw Steagu’ Rosu Brasov take on Merseyside FC in what was very nearly a bloodbath. Steagu’ picked up 5 yellow cards in a thirty minute period and the Scousers will feel lucky that only Peruvian midfielder Johan Vásquez picked up an injury. Slovakian striker Martin Cizmar sealed the victory for Steagu’ in the 67th minute with a nasty deflection past the Scousers’ keeper. Elsewhere Dillon Panthers F.C. were away to London Hibernian F.C. in quite an eventful match. Denny Ladzaat opened the scoring on the 17th minute, while Brazilian forward Eduardo doubled the Panthers’ league just before half time. London Hibs just couldn’t get in to the match after that and it finished 2-0. woodford voc’s first match saw them lose a 1-0 lead to Kingswood Rangers with Sota Hirayama immediately cancelling out Aleksandar Bajevski’s 68th minute goal leaving Luis Ignacio Quinteros to seal the result in the 89th minute. Jamie Flanagan’s Fly Bhoys are fast becoming known as the draw kings with their last four matches ending 2:2, 1:1, 3:3 and 1:1. Dillon Panthers F.C.’s Brazilian forward Eduardo is leading the League B scoring charts with an amazing 11 goals in 11 games. His team mate Geílson is close behind with 8 goals in 10 appearances. The Panthers’ Irish goalkeeper is something of an enigma as Darren Randolph is leading both the Clean Sheets and Goals Conceded charts. In a Panthers clean sweep English midfield duo Jimmy Bullard and Isaiah Osbourne are both on top of the Assists chart while their team mates Mbo Mpenza and Denny Landzaat are also in the top 5. Today’s form player is clearly Eduardo of the Dillon Panthers. Scoring a goal per game it looks like it will be very hard to stop the Panthers’ quest for promotion.
